あの日、彼女は死んだ。
3日にわたる行方不明の期間を経て、自宅へと戻る雛月。母親である明美は、彼女の後ろに控える悟・佐知子の姿を見て、怒りのあまりシャベルを振り回す。間一髪、その一撃を避ける佐知子。そして見計らっていたように、児童相談所の職員と八代が現れた。雛月の一時保護を伝える職員に明美は反発し、警察に行くと息巻いた。3日間の誘拐を警察で話されると悟たちが不利になる…そんな状況の中、八代が連れてきた誰も予期せぬ人物が、事態を急変させる……。
