Na Ziemi zniszczonej w katastrofie nuklearnej jedzenie to luksus dostępny nielicznym. Leonora (Gitte Witt), Jacob (Thomas Gullestad) i ich córka Alice (Tuva Olivia Remman) do nich nie należą, więc śmierć zagląda im już w oczy. Pewnego dnia miejscowy hotel zaprasza jednak ocalałych na sztukę teatralną połączoną z darmowym posiłkiem. Pozbawiona wyboru rodzina korzysta z propozycji, a dyrektor Mathias (Thorbjorn Harr) obwieszcza, że sceną przedstawienia będzie cały hotel. Widzowie otrzymują tylko maski, które odróżniają ich od aktorów. Przedstawienie szybko przybiera jednak mroczny obrót, gdy goście zaczynają ginąć. Granica między rzeczywistością a sztuką szybko się zaciera, ale gdy Alice znika na oczach Leo i Jacoba nikt nie ma już wątpliwości - hotel Mathiasa to miejsce z piekła rodem.
