Richie en Eddie wonen samen in een bovenwoning in de Londense wijk Hammersmith. Ze verkeren aan de onderkant van de samenleving en hun leven draait om televisie, drank en een gebrek aan geld en vrouwen. Beiden zijn dom en amoreel, en leven in een wederzijdse haat-vriendschapsverhouding. Samen slaan ze zich door een leven van crisis en verveling als in een orgie van destructie.
