Met 45 kilo overgewicht, zijn lijf vol met steroïden en lijdend aan een slopende auto-immuunziekte is Joe Cross aan het einde van zijn Latijn en zijn hoop. De film volgt de persoonlijke missie van Joe om weer gezond te worden. Aangezien artsen en conventionele medicijnen niet in staat zijn Joe op lange termijn te helpen, blijft er nog maar één optie over: de mogelijkheid van het lichaam om zichzelf te herstellen. Hij zweert junkfood af en gaat op weg met een sapcentrifuge en gaat de komende zestig dagen alleen maar vers fruit en groentesappen te drinken. De komende 3000 mijl heeft hij één doel voor ogen: om van zijn pillen af te komen en een evenwichtige levensstijl te bereiken.
