Amikor Michael J."Krokodil" Dundee rájön, hogy a barátnőjét, a csinos amerikai újságírónőt fogva tartja Rico, a kegyetlen drogbáró, látványos mentési akcióba kezd. Rá kell jönnie azonban, hogy New York City zsúfolt utcáin és egymás hegyén-hátán álló épületei között lehetetlen búvóhelyet találni. Különösen akkor nem, amikor profi gyilkosok bandája ered a nyomába. Így hát Rico és bandája ellen Mick egyetlen dolgot tehet, visszaviszi Sue-t a szülőhazájába, Ausztráliába, aminek minden zegét-zugát ismeri, ahol felkészülten várhatja Rico érkezését. Azonban ahogy ellenségei egyre beljebb hatolnak felségterületén, ismét a jól bevált fortélyhoz kell folyamodnia, eljátszani az emberbőrbe bújt krokodilt.
