Nem beszélek zöldségeket!

Vannak filmek, melyek a maguk csendes módján, leheletfinom eszközökkel mesélnek kis csodákról. Germain (Gérard Depardieu) amolyan ügyefogyott mackóként, francia Forrest Gumpként csetlik-botlik az életben, alkalmi munkákból él. Sörözik a haverokkal, gondozza a veteményét, s az anyja házának kertjében lakik egy lerobbant lakókocsiban. Az egykori lassú felfogású, rossz tanuló ma is nehezen tud olvasni, hadilábon áll a szavakkal, a mindennapokat a maga egyszerű módján éli meg. A szeretettelenségben töltött gyerekkor, a rideg anya által meghatározott felnőtt mindennapok sivársága után Germain csak abban lelheti örömét, hogy napközben a városka parkjában üldögél a padon, és eteti a galambokat.
