בפריז של שנת 2054, נחטפת מדענית מבריקה, ומעסיקה - תאגיד אוואלון - מבקש משוטר בעייתי ושנוי במחלוקת למצוא אותה. החיפוש בפאריז העתידנית והאפלה מגלה כי החוקרת קשורה למדען מנודה, עדים שנרצחו ואחות יפהפייה. החשדות ואי הוודאות גוברים כאשר מתברר כי החוקרת מחזיקה את המפתח לעתידו של המין האנושי - פרוטוקול רנסנס. סרט עתידני ואפל, פרוייקט אנימציה מיוחד וחדשני המשלב אנימציה וצילום, המושפע מסרטו של רוברט רודריגז "עיר החטאים".
